The other day I read something you wrote in notes section and shared it with my husband. He’s a retired physics, math and science high school teacher, and this was his comment after I finished reading aloud what you wrote.

“Wow, she writes well and her descriptions are perfect!”

Coming from Mr. Teacher, I thought well, well no criticisms! Haha

As I began to read these words, I was saying you can’t write an instruction manual. You can only write about YOUR family, YOUR CHILD, YOUR EXPERIENCE AND THE DX. Because no two are alike. In any way. Children on the spectrum vary in symptoms, behaviors, where on the spectrum, support systems, parental resources and finances, other additional disabilities besides just “autism”, that no a manual for the masses is not possible. But then I continued to read and yes you realize this. You understand that you are sharing YOUR SINGLE STORY, the things you’ve tried and the journey you and your family have experienced. Your purpose is that hopefully those coming behind you can relate or find a nugget in your writing and years that helps them, enables them to not feel so alone, understand the dx and journey a bit more. I believe you are already accomplishing this. Your authenticity and sharing of topics most don’t, also is relatable. As an ancient old mom years ahead of you, I wish I’d had a mom to share with all these decades. I have seen the eras of how it’s all evolved. And how it hasn’t. I applaud your courage.

As for the name of the book shown here, it doesn’t really resonate bc all children should be raised wholly so perhaps thought to the title is in order if this is not in stone.

I don’t know that I’ll ever publish despite being a writer. My story goes beyond ASD but is one that is still unfolding.

Much love Carrie.
